8th Grade - World
In 8th grade, students study world geography, Biblical worldview and finish their final year of Spanish.  Their mission trip is a culminating event that summarizes their CCS experience with an intense week of ministry in another country using a foreign language.  This trip is designed to partner with God and help students understand God's love for the world.

Day 2
Rick Martin 04/20/10 08:45 PM CST

Friends,

The day after travel is always a hard day.  Everyone is a bit tired from a late night and new surroundings.  We met at the mission at 11:00 and had a team meeting that included a devotional thought on fear from Josh and Samuel.  This devotional followed Quincy and Matt's who also chose the theme of fear.  As we listened to the two thoughts, it became clear that God is dealing with our fears and challenging us to use our fear to step into courage and to identify the giants in our lives and conquer them.

After devotions, we shared stories and once again, it is a delight to hear first hand what God is already doing in the hearts of the students and parents alike.  Please keep praying.  God is doing good work.

We then toured the community to see where everyone is living.  That was a first for us but a great thing to do because it gave us a picture of where the stories originate.  After a big lunch of tacos de pollo, we then divided up into ministry teams and went out to visit and pray for the church families.  The church here is going through a tough time and it was a joy to participate in praying and ministering comfort and hope to a church in need.

The evening found us returning to our host families for an early night and hopefully a good night of rest to prepare us for the big day downtown tomorrow.
