Kathy Stutzman

Hello and welcome to the curriculum “office”. I am Kathy Stutzman the curriculum coordinator for CCS. This is a relatively new role for me. For 21 years at CCS I occupied the kindergarten classroom. But God has led me into this position and I am ready for the challenges ahead. Let me show you around.

In the curriculum office there is a round table where teachers gather with me and with each other to brainstorm, share and grow professionally. Parents may even stop by and one morning a week the office becomes a prayer room as parents gather to lift up the school to the Lord. You may stop by and not find me in the office at all. But that is okay. I am out in the classrooms, observing and interacting with the teachers and students.

I believe God is asking us to sharpen and refine what we are currently doing specifically in curriculum and academics here at CCS. We want to help students develop strong literacy skills (to think and read critically and write effectively), connect what they are learning with real life events, analyze and explain concepts through a biblical perspective and be active participants on the path of learning. My role is to work together with the teachers to help all students

  •      Be reading and writing
  •      Be thinking critically
  •      Be prepared to give an answer; to explain the rationale for truth.

1 Peter 3:15 says “in your heart set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” The Message says it this way. “Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are.”

I am privileged to be part of this school family, working together as we help CCS students continue on their educational journey, enter the work force, become good citizens and minister the truth and love of Jesus to the world.
