Cornerstone Christian School has been serving the greater Harrisonburg, Virginia, community since the fall of 1990. Two teachers and nineteen students established a program to help students live Biblically, learn effectively and serve God with passion. This program has grown to serve 149 students from grades preschool through 8th grade and employs 22 teachers and staff. As CCS celebrates 20 years of education, the board, administration, teachers and parents envision a bright future as the need for Christian education continues to grow in the American culture.
What began in a church building located in Broadway now operates in a newly constructed school facility located in Harrisonburg. This facility is equipped with modern classrooms, science lab, gymnasium, computer lab, library, athletic fields and space to grow into the vision that God has established in the hearts of those who lead the school.
The over all vision of CCS is to train students with a Biblical worldview and release them to impact the area high schools with Godly character, advanced learning and the ability to meet a wide range of needs around them. As the school assesses its effectiveness, it has been noted that graduates of CCS have pursued a wide variety of carreers that have propelled them all over the world. CCS students are making a difference.
On July 25th, 2007, the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) regional accreditation commission granted Cornerstone Christian School accreditation for the full seven year period with an expiration date of June 30, 2014.
