My Story:

CCS has been a significant part of Rick’s life over the past 30 years. He strongly believes that the focus on character, discipleship, and transforming oneself to be more like Christ is a needed focus in today’s culture. When fully formed, “They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” Isaiah 61:3. 

When not working, Rick enjoys spending time with his family, taking walks with his wife, and non rugged camping. 

Title: Director of Curriculum and Instruction

My Story:  Justin has worked in Christian education since 2008. He holds a B.A. in English and an M.Ed. in Integrated Curriculum & Instruction. In addition to serving as the Director of Curriculum & Instruction, he also teaches high school Humanities at CCS. He says, “I believe teaching is a sacred calling. We form future generations, most of the time in ways we will never see. Our work is teleological at its core. I am honored and blessed to work at CCS alongside such excellent teachers, caring administrators, and a committed parent community.” Outside CCS, Justin enjoys hiking, fly fishing, and trips to the beach with family, along with good coffee and great books. He will discuss educational theory, philosophy, and theology with you way longer than you might prefer.

Title: Lower School Coordinator

My Story:  Jenny has been working in education since 2011, but her heart for teaching and love of learning began long before that. From her very first day of kindergarten in 1993, she knew she wanted to be a teacher! Her family became part of the CCS community in 2017, and in 2023, she joined CCS as a staff member. In addition to serving as the Lower School Coordinator, Jenny teaches Lower Elementary PE and Middle School Math and serves as the Student Support Teacher.

At the heart of Jenny’s philosophy of education is connection. She believes that when students feel known, valued, safe, and loved, they are better able to learn and grow. She values knowing each student as an individual, celebrating their strengths, encouraging them through challenges, and reminding them that their worth is not determined by their accomplishments. Rather, their worth is found in the truth that they are deeply loved by God, created in His image, and uniquely made with a purpose.

Outside of school, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family, being active in her church, drinking coffee and cheering on CCS athletics. She is the wife of Evan, Mom to Owen, Kayla, and Kinsley and dog mom to their cavapoo, Austin.

Title: Admissions & Event Manager

My Story: Kristin is an alumna of CCS and mom of three CCS students. She is passionate about helping Christian education be more accessible to families who wish their children to be brought up with a Biblical worldview. She loves planning school events, promoting CCS on social media, & being a “Musical Mom”.  

Kristin enjoys drinking tea, creating Canva designs, and pampering the teachers & staff with chocolate, coffee, and other treats. When not working, she enjoys reading, music, spending time with her family, and cheering for the JMU Dukes.

Title: Kindergarten/First Grade

My Story: Ms. Blosser’s favorite part of teaching at Cornerstone is the fact that the hearts of students and their relationships with God are of highest priority. She enjoys the freedom she has to teach students truths about God and to teach from a Biblical perspective. Another of her highlights is watching students as academic concepts begin to click and they get excited about learning. Outside of school Ms. Blosser enjoys baking, reading, walking, and playing with her grandson.

Title: First Grade

My Stories: I have taught kindergarten and first grade for over 39 years. I teach First grade Reading, Math, STEM and Technology. I have been connected with CCS since its founding, as a supporter, parent, grandparent and now as a “retired” teacher who still loves teaching children! I love showing children the love of Jesus and fostering their relationship with Jesus. Teaching at CCS has given me the opportunity to pray with my students, teach from a biblical perspective, support parents and develop relationships!

In my free time I enjoy being with Family-my sons and their wives- and of course, spoiling my grandchildren- I enjoy cooking, baking bread, reading and sitting around the fire pit with friends and family.

Title: K/1st Grade

My Story: From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and have trusted the Lord to lead me in that calling. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Inclusive Early Childhood Education from James Madison University. Prior to joining the team at CCS, I taught preschool special education in the public school system for four years. What I love most about teaching are the “lightbulb” moments — those instants when a concept finally clicks and a child’s face lights up with understanding. One of my favorite quotes is that “every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists they become the best they can be”. Beyond that, I want to point my students to the Lord and the truth of His Word, guiding them to trust that He has good plans for each of their lives. “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:6

My Story: Hope grew up in the CCS community and attended the school from preschool to 8th grade. She loves CCS! The 2026-2027 school year will be her 3rd year at CCS and 5th year as a full-time teacher. She attended Western Governors University and received a BA in Elementary Education. Hope enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her interests include spending time outdoors (such as hiking, kayaking, hosting picnics), going on vacation, listening to live music, and sewing.

My Story: I am a middle school Language Arts teacher with two years of experience in Christian education. I earned my degree in journalism and education from Palm Beach Atlantic University and spent a decade as a journalist before following God’s call into teaching. With a heart for serving students, I have been actively involved in children’s and youth ministries across multiple states. I am passionate about helping students grow in their faith, character, and academic skills while creating a supportive, Christ-centered classroom environment.

Title: Technology / Athletic Director

My Story:  Hello! Serving as the Athletic Director at CCS has been one of my most rewarding experiences. Building systems and frameworks for programs is my skills set. Relationships with youth is my wheelhouse. I have worked with youth in some capacity for over 20 years. It started with in home support to young moms and families with disabilities, taken me to helping and leading youth groups, building trainings, and many community outreach efforts. Building relationship with teens and watching them succeed on the court or track is the ultimate kingdom work. It’s an avenue to touch lives outside the classroom and provide opportunity to shape young people for eternity. Outside of CCS I enjoy helping small businesses through my bookkeeping services. For more than 10 years I have helped a variety of companies organize and implement financial systems that make sense for them. My husband and I have five children at home that are each involved in extra curricular activities that keep us busy. We enjoy supporting them each in their adventures. When I have time, I enjoy reading or finding respite at the ocean’s shore. I also love worshiping our Lord and find as many opportunities as I can to pause and worship alongside our students. It is a great honor to partner with CCS and walk along side each child and family that is here.

Title: Language Arts; Bible & History

My Story: As of 2022, I’ve been teaching for eight years in private Christian schools, including one year teaching English at a JROTC all-boys’ military school.

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, writing, hiking, fishing, boating, drinking coffee, and talking about deep theological subjects related to the Kingdom of God. I love to delve into God’s word to discover rhema truth: daily bread for the journey.

CCS is a great school and I’m honored to serve among the wonderful people – families, teachers, and administrators – who labor to make this school a true community. It’s also a blessing to have my family attend CCS with me: my four children as students, and my wife, Heidi, as a Spanish teacher.

This is my prayer as I step into class each day:

“Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants” (Deuteronomy 32:2, NIV).

Gwen’s Story

Mrs. Zook serves as the Librarian and 5th Grade homeroom, Bible and math along with keyboarding for 3rd-5th grades.  She has over 20 years teaching experience with more than 18 of those being at CCS.

“I enjoy interacting with the staff, students and families of CCS. I like the emphasis of the school and home working together to shape the heart of each child. It is a pleasure working in a school where the goal is not just academics but also Godly character. I am thankful for the positive atmosphere and supportive staff that I am able to work with.”

Outside of school, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband and friends, along with sewing and crafting.

A verse that has always meant a lot to her is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”

My Stories

Mrs. Morgan has been blessing CCS for 24 years in the areas of music and theater.
She loves CCS for the relationship that she develops with the students. She teaches all grades-PK-8th grade and this allows her to see the students grow over the years and develop a relationship with each one.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoys hanging out with the ladies in her Lifegroup and making music unto the Lord with her friends in the church worship team.
